Destination Denver!
It was quite a Denver for all with record High
temps for the entire Simmental events. Even the
seasoned veterans of the National Western do not
remember a better weather year. Along with the
great weather came the cattle and the Simmental
seedstock was definitely a shining star this
year.
“The One” Sale once again has standing room only
for the selection of extremely stout set of sale
stock. Sale resulted with an average of $7140
and bidders/buyers from 30 states, 4 Canadian
provinces and Australia; including a record
number of new breeders have joined the ranks of
Simmentals enthusiasts.
This year’s donation lot for the ASA Foundation
came from Hart Farms in the form a pick of 100
heifer calves. No stranger to the outstanding
Hart Farms genetics, Triple C Farms purchased
the lot at a cost of $ 12,000 and perhaps, has a
visions of the next Hollywood Queen.
The Power Bull event was a popular activity for
everyone attending the stock show. Buyers of the
Power Bull tickets have the opportunity to judge
the nominated power bulls and ranking the best
of the best. When the tabulations were done,
there were six powerful herd bull prospects
standing in the sale ring. Power Bull Sponsor
rep of Purina Mills, Dr Steven Myers selected
the winning ticket that listed Scott Grass and
partners. After a short deliberation, he
selected the Power bull Champion from Grass-Lunning
Simmental to win the $12,500 prize money.
